“Never underestimate the craftsmen of the past. What they did was done for a reason.”
This is the philosophy I take with me whenever I approach a fresh piece of stone. There is so much we can learn from the way things were done and slate memorials are perhaps the perfect example of this. Crisp lines, beautiful detail, prose and imagery are abundant on New England’s slate grave markers and that tradition should be carried on into the present
All my work is hand cut using a simple chisel and brass mallet, just as it was done three centuries ago. Stone imagery is individually designed for each client to reflect interests, achievements, passions and personal meaning. They are truly outdoor works of art that should last for many hundreds of years.
Find out what we can do to design and craft a piece of art that represents a unique life, all by hand by those who understand tradition.
